Cookies

Last updated: 22 July 2026

We keep this short because we keep cookies short. Here’s exactly what Interrail Planner stores in your browser, and how to clear it.

What we use, and why

Most of what we store in your browser is there to make the app work — to keep you signed in and to hold onto trips you build before you make an account. We also use a small amount of analytics to understand how the planner is used. We don’t use advertising cookies.

NameTypeWhat it doesSet by
Supabase auth (sb-…)EssentialKeeps you signed in and refreshes your session as you browse.Interrail Planner
interrail.trips.v1, interrail.wishlist.v1 (local storage)EssentialSaves the trips and wishlist you build before you have an account, so they survive a page refresh. Moved into your account if you sign up.Interrail Planner
interrail.trips.active.v1.… (local storage)EssentialRemembers which trip you last had open, per signed-in account, so the planner reopens where you left off.Interrail Planner
flash:… (cookie)EssentialA one-shot notice that lives for at most 30 seconds — for example the “joined trip” message after you accept an invite. Deletes itself once shown.Interrail Planner
PostHog (cookies + local storage)AnalyticsRemembers an anonymous analytics ID so we can count visits and see how the planner is used. Requests go through our own domain.PostHog
TikTok (on activity pages with embeds)Third-partySet by TikTok when an embedded video loads on a page you visit.TikTok

Third-party embeds

Some activity pages embed TikTok videos straight from tiktok.com. When one loads, TikTok can set its own cookies — the same as any embedded video. If you’d rather it didn’t, you can block third-party cookies in your browser, or simply not open pages with embeds.

Controlling cookies

You can clear or block any of this from your browser settings, and clearing site data will remove our essential and analytics storage. Clearing the essential items signs you out and forgets any trips you planned without an account — if you want to keep those trips, create an account first: signing up moves them into your account.
